East Crete Royal Jeep Safari
After picking you up from your hotel, we gather in the Royal Car Rental office in Anissaras. After a short briefing from the tour leader, we are ready to begin.
After an adventurous driving hour on treacherous canyon roads, it's the time for the first coffee stop in the village of Kastelli. From there, we continue our trip driving on dusty roads through olive fields and vineyards.
We pass some traditional Cretan villages and a monastery. Our next stop is the village of Astrisi, where Nikos will prepare our delicious lunch.
Then it's time to discover another part of Crete in the area of Koursamos,
by dusty roads again, of course. In the village of Stironas, we have a short stop in a "kazani".
Here, we will be shown how wine is produced, as well as how the famous raki is made.
After this, we continue our tour and explore some more nice parts of Crete by a road leading us through an amazing gorge where we have beautiful views and pass a Venetian bridge.
We pass the village of Episkopi and, after an easy road, we stop for a nice, refreshing dive in the Cretan sea.
We return at the Royal Car Rental office at around 5 o'clock.
West Crete Royal Jeep Safari
Join us to uncover the mysteries of West Crete through an exciting 4x4 jeep safari!
You will embark on your adventure from right outside your hotel, where we will wait to first take you on a half-hour drive by Therisso Canyon's serene waterfalls and wonderful dense tree patches, before stopping in the old village of Therissos at Lefka Ori mountain's base. Here, our tour-guide will offer you a briefing priot to continuing the journey off-road on the mountainous slopes towards Laki village. Here, you will be able to taste Greece's most popular coffee, the delicious and refreshing frappe, as well as walk around the ancient village taking photos of the landscapes and central square monument.
After we leave Laki, another driving adventures down dusty roads will bring us to the village of Deres, where we will have lunch in a traditional Cretan tavern under the lazy noon shadows of trees and next to the whispering sounds of a small river. But don't get too comfortable, as the most adventurous parts are just around the corner!
Right after lunch, a rough, one-hour off-road drive will take us to the village of Palaia Roumata, with its picturesque landscapes and architecture worth both admiration and a few photos, as well as its excellent coffee to relax you after the drive. The rest will not be long, though, as another off-road segment will await to take us through the little-known, yet breathtakingly impressive Mesavlia gorge, where another photo shoot will be in order.
Finally, after such an adventure, an easy road will bring us down to the sea, on Kolympari beach, where you will be able to enjoy a cool, refreshing swim in the Cretan Sea.
The journey will finally complete its circle at half past five in the afternoon, when we will drop you off back at your hotel so that you can enjoy the remainder of the day and dream about your fantastic experience.
So, remember that our safari has five scheduled stops:
- Therisso village
- Laki village
- Deres village, with lunch
- Palaia Roumata village
- Kolympari beach
At your request, we may also stop anywhere along the route to allow you to take as many photos as you want, as well as do some sightseeing.
Don't forget to bring along your driving licence, sun cream, a water bottle, a cap and, most importantly, your adventure spirit and good mood!
Included in the price are the 4x4 jeep, lunch, gasoline, the tour guide and transfers to and from the hotel.
